Hi, my name is Bryan. I’m an alcoholic and drug addict. My drug of choice is heroin. I’ve been sober for more than a year now. It’s been a long journey, but I’m finally on the other side. I’ve been to city and county jails for theft, drug use and DUIs. I’ve gotten fired from jobs, and I’ve hurt a lot of people. It’s all a result of using alcohol and drugs.
I’m going to be 41. That’s close to 27 years of drug abuse, almost 2/3 of my life. I’ve seen handfuls of people die from alcoholism, some young, some old. This disease can kill you, whether you’re 18 or 40. Right now, I’m trying to keep life simple and take each day as it comes. There's too much to lose.
